The Schizophrenia Research Unit focuses on using the latest methods of cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology to better understand the key deficits that characterise patients living with serious mental illness, including schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, depression and first-episode psychosis. The unit continues to grow its translational research interests, via research on interventions to enhance aspects of cognition, and methods to mitigate negative physical health effects associated with antipsychotic medications in first-episode psychosis and in people with established illness
